Speeding is one of the most dangerous problems on our roads today – a factor in an estimated one-third of all crashes, injuries, and fatalities in Maryland.

10,395 people were killed nationally in speed-related crashes in 2010.

Caroline County Sheriff John "Randy" Bounds and command staff joined their new Deputy in graduating ceremonies at the Eastern Shore Criminal Justice Academy. Caroline County Deputy Sheriff Jared Royer was one of eighteen law enforcement officers from Wicomico, Worcester, Dorchester, Caroline, Kent, Queen Anne's and Garrett counties who graduated in the 68th entrance-level class of the Eastern Shore Criminal Justice Academy (ESCJA) operated by Wor-Wic Community College.

2011 Torch Run was a success

2011 Law Enforcement Torch RunOn June 8th, 2011, The Easton Police Department hosted the Talbot County leg of the 2011 Maryland Law Enforcement Torch Run to benefit Special Olympics. Members of the Caroline County Sheriff's Office, and Sheriff John R. Bounds, were in attendance to take part in the event.

Sheriff's Office Records Division Employee Receives Award

Dawn Cordrey with her HusbandMid-Shore Pro Bono (MSPB) recently honored the volunteer attorneys who enable the organization to assist low-income residents of five Mid-Shore counties with civil legal matters. Its annual Pro Bono Awards Reception was held on October 27 at The Milestone in Easton, hosted together with Mid-Shore Council on Family Violence.

Executive Director Sandy Brown and Board President Jesse Hammock presented plaques to the Mid-Shore Pro Bono award recipients, along with citations from local legislators.

Sheriff's Office takes part in career day

On May, 8th, 2011, Children at the Federalsburg Elementary school will have more thoughtful answers to the eternal question "What do you want to be when you grow up?" after a recent career day with the Caroline County Sheriff's Office, and other professionals in various careers.
