Sheriff’s Office Investigates Fatal Crash
Denton, Maryland – Caroline County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal crash that claimed the life of a 39-year-old Maryland man.
The deceased is identified as Robert Rowland Jr., 39, of Church Hill, Maryland. Rowland Jr. was the front seat passenger of a 2014 Ford Focus involved in the crash. He was pronounced deceased at the scene by personnel from the Caroline County Department of Emergency Services.
Just before 2:00 a.m., December 7, 2025, deputies from the Caroline County Sheriff’s Office responded to the area of Greensboro Road and Burrsville Road for a motor vehicle crash. The preliminary investigation indicates a 2014 Ford Focus being driven by Michael Steinberg 44, from Dunkirk, Maryland was traveling South bound on Greensboro Road when, for unknown reasons, left the roadway, and entered the front yard of a residence on Greensboro Road. The vehicle overturned before striking a group of trees, where it came to rest. Steinberg was transported by Caroline County Emergency Medical Services to Bayhealth Hospital in Dover, Delaware in serious condition.
Greensboro Road was shut down for crash investigation. The Maryland State Police Crash Team responded and is assisting in the investigation. This investigation is on-going and anyone with information is asked to contact the Caroline County Sheriff’s Office at 410-479-2515.
