Federalsburg Man Arrested Following Domestic Incident and DUI
Federalsburg, MD — On Sunday, March 22, 2026, deputies from the Caroline County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 200 block of Pebble Street in Federalsburg for a report of an individual actively ramming one vehicle into another.
Upon arrival, deputies determined that 42-year-old David Scully, of Federalsburg, Maryland, had been involved in a verbal altercation with his wife. Deputies further learned that there was an active final protective order in place, with the wife listed as the protected party.
Following the argument, Mr. Scully reportedly used his Ford F-250 to intentionally strike his wife’s BMW passenger vehicle three times. He then fled the scene in the same vehicle and was reported to be intoxicated.
A short time later, deputies located Mr. Scully at a nearby convenience store, where he was found seated in the driver’s seat of the Ford truck. Deputies observed damage to the rear of the vehicle. During the investigation, Mr. Scully was determined to be under the influence of alcohol, and an alcoholic beverage was located inside the vehicle.
Mr. Scully was taken into custody without incident and charged with the following offenses:
• Violation of a Protective Order
• Malicious Destruction of Property (over $1,000)
• Intoxicated Endangerment
• Driving While Impaired by Alcohol
• Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol
Mr. Scully was taken before a Caroline County District Court Commissioner for his initial appearance, at which time he was ordered to be held without bond at the Caroline County Detention Center.
