June 05, 2026

We would like to recognize and congratulate Corporal Ferguson on receiving the Holmatro USA "Gold Pin Award" for Distinguished Life Saving Efforts during an attempted rescue incident in February 2026. Corporal Ferguson, who is assigned to our Ridgely Patrol Unit, was on duty in his capacity as a Deputy Sheriff when he responded to a serious motor vehicle collision at Ridgely Road and Eveland Road to assist the Maryland State Police. In addition to his duties with the Sheriff's Office, Corporal Ferguson is also a dedicated member of the Ridgely Volunteer Fire Company. Drawing upon his training and experience as a firefighter, Corporal Ferguson utilized Holmatro rescue equipment to assist in the extrication of those involved in the crash. His quick actions, professionalism, and commitment to serving others played a vital role in the efforts that day. We are proud to have Corporal Ferguson representing the Caroline County Sheriff's Office. His dedication to public service exemplifies the highest standards of our profession. Congratulations, Corporal Ferguson, on this well-deserved recognition!
